Scheduling Appointments

To schedule an appointment, please call our office between 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday and 9:00am to 3:00pm on Fridays. At that time, we will ask you to explain the nature of your visit, so that we may allow the appropriate amount of time for your appointment.

Canceling Appointments

If you must cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require 2 business days notice to avoid a fee. This notice will allow another patient to use your appointment time.

Late Arrivals

We respect the time of all our patients. We strive to stay on schedule so that you do not have to wait. If you are delayed and arrive late for your appointment, every effort will be made to see you the same day. On occasion, you may be asked to wait or reschedule your appointment.

Emergencies

If you are our current patient (i.e. have been previously seen by one of our doctors in the office), there is a physician on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help you with an urgent medical problem. If your medical condition if life threatening call 911.

If the emergency occurs during office hours, call the main number to get in touch with a physician.

If the emergency occurs after office hours, call the main number and you will be instructed on how to contact the physician on call. The physician on-call will return your call as quickly as possible. Please limit your calls to true emergencies. If you have Caller ID, you must disable it to receive a phone call from the on-call physician.

If your problem is not a medical emergency, please call during office hours. Prescription refill requests will be handled only during office hours. Birth control pill prescriptions will not be refilled by the on-call doctor on the weekend.

Coverage

We are a group medical practice and are proud of the continuity of care provided to our patients. You will have the physician of your choice as your primary OB/GYN for periodic check-ups and scheduled visits. If the occasion arises that your primary OB/GYN is unavailable another physician will see you. If you are an obstetric patient you will meet each of the doctors at least once for a prenatal visit during your pregnancy. The doctor on call, when you go into labor, will take care of you during your delivery.

Medical Records

You are entitled to copies of your medial records, for yourself or for another medical provider. After providing our medical records secretary with the proper written authorization, the office will release your records.

Charge: $0.75 per page plus the actual cost of mailing. Copies of x-rays of other specialized media will be additional charge.

Please allow 10 business days for us to prepare and mail/fax your medical records.

Prescriptions

If you are on a long-term medication, our physicians will typically prescribe a sufficient quantity to last until your next visit. If you are running out of medicine, it is likely because you need to make a follow-up appointment.

Prescription refills will only be handled during office hours. Please allow 2 business days for your refill to be processed. Be prepared to give the following information;

  • Your name;
  • Your date of birth;
  • Your physicians name;
  • The name and dosage of the medication; and
  • Your pharmacy’s telephone number.

Lost Prescription Fee

This practice provides prescriptions as are medically necessary and appropriate in your treatment. It is your responsibility to promptly fill the prescription. Should the prescription become lost, or you have moved to a new pharmacy, and a replacement is necessary, there is a $25 fee that must be paid before the replacement prescription is provided.

Telephone Consultations

Most health insurance benefits do not include telephone consultations as a covered health benefit.

A telephone consultation is a request by the patient for clinical advice related to a new or distinct medical condition and is not part of the follow up to a condition under active treatment in the office. Charge: Between $75 and $200 depending upon complexity of the request being made, with a minimum charge of $75 per response.

Telephone consultations are also charged if the patient requests and authorizes a discussion of the patient’s condition, treatment, or any other clinical matter with a relative or other physician not part of the active treatment of the patient. The patient must have authorized such communications in writing.

Note: Telephone consultation may not preclude the need for an office visit, as many times proper evaluation and diagnosis of an illness will require physical examination.

Referrals

Some health plans require referrals for you to see a specialist.

If you are a new patient and have been referred to our office with a medical condition by another physician, you will be required to provide us with a referral. If you arrive at our office without a referral, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment for another day.

If you are referred to a specialist by one of our physicians, we will be happy to provide you with a referral. To obtain a referral from us, please contact our business office allowing 5 business days to process.

If you plan to see a specialist unrelated to your OB/GYN health you must obtain the referral from your primary care doctor. If you do not have a primary care doctor and would like to have one, please see the list of primary care doctors we recommend on the links page of this web site.
